Over time, Tai Chi Chuan has branched into five main styles that were originated by five different Chinese families.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\">Chen Style.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\">Yang Style.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\">Wu (Hao) Style.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\">Wu style<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\">Sun Style.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\">Tai Chi Chuan translates to <strong><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201c<em>Ultimate Supreme Fist<\/em>\u201d<\/span><\/strong> which is a testament to the art\u2019s primary goal \u2013 using the entire body to generate power and energy. <\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\">Tai Chi Chuan focuses on the essential concepts of body alignment, body relaxation, breathing, rooting (leg and feet strength), balance and economy of motion (only using the minimum amount of energy to achieve a goal \u2013 no more, no less). Due to Tai Chi Chuan&#8217;s\u00a0comprehensive view of the body and its functions, the practice has been interpreted many ways and has even made its way into athletics, medicine and meditation. Such therapeutic qualities can readily be seen in Tai Chi Chuan since the art makes use of the body\u2019s bones, muscles, internal organs and the mind\u2019s focus.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/taichila.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Yang_Luchan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-326\" src=\"http:\/\/taichila.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Yang_Luchan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"389\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808000;\"><em>Yang Style<\/em> Tai Chi Chuan was founded by Yang Lu\u2019chan <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #808000;\">[above]<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #808000;\"> in the early 19<sup>th<\/sup> century. Yang Style, the most popular style in the modern world, stays true to its origins while also differing slightly. Yang Style approaches the Long Form with a slower, even-paced attitude as opposed to the varied, explosive movements of Chen Style. Yang Style also tends to be \u201chigher\u201d off the ground in terms rooting whereas Chen Style tends to emphasis extreme stretching of the legs to become as low as possible (like a snake).
